Media Example #15
I thought Liz's article was really interesting. I use the word 'like' a lot, but I notice when other people say it and realize it has become popular word that shows the difference in speech patterns between generations. This article was one of the most interesting media examples we've had, so informative!

Media Example #16
I think this was a good media example because it was a funny and interesting story, but Daniel did have a point. Was it really news worthy? I think sites like the Huffington Post are nice because you can browse through their website and read stories that aren't so depressing, which is often times the case on sites like the Washington Post and The New York Times. I enjoy reading news stories like these once in a while.

NIKE press release
1) I think it was smart of NIKE to go towards being environmentally friendly since it is becoming popular for companies to have at least some sort of eco-friendly product. The way the press release talked about their new impact was smart; using numbers and materials makes it seem more real than just telling the reader you're reusing.
2) The press release also did a good job of advertising by talking about two popular sports, football and basketball, and all of the new equipment this line will produce for athletes.
3) The press release in general was well written. It focused on saving raw materials and repeated in numerous different ways how they will be recycling and reducing their materials. NIKE also did a good job of incorporating athletic terms like "28 soccer pitches" into their press release.
